Since 1997, The Future Centre Trust (FCT) and its supporters have been working hard to promote environmental education within the community. The FCT developed Clean Up Barbados in 2009 and held its first event on Saturday September 19, 2009 which was very successful. In 2010, the numbers of participants grew, 2011 sent us a blessing of rainfall and extended our normal ‘one day’ event, so in 2012, we invite YOUR participation to help spread the word, actively participate and feel part of something worthwhile.

The 2012 Clean Up Barbados Day event will take place on Saturday, September 15th 2012. Many of our beaches, gullies and open spaces need attention. The Clean Up Barbados Day event is linked by membership to the global Clean Up the World weekend held on the third weekend of September every year. The event gives groups the opportunity to get out and get involved by cleaning up an area needing attention and that the community shares a passion in maintaining.

Groups are encouraged to gather a team together, register, choose an area to clean up and report back on what they collected. Many teams are invited across the country to make it a truly community clean up day.

We are therefore inviting support in one of the following ways:
•arranging a group for a specific clean up of an area;
•and/or support of advertising funds;
•and/or support for the purchase of various supplies – bags, gloves, T-shirts, etc.

See our Sponsor Packages information for more ways on how you can assist!
